I come there to Austin at times and planning some trips to HH. I am a Pro Photographer also for my 2nd job and what are the rules on photography?
Just ask subjects if you may shoot them ?
When the water warm up ?

well as far as i know that is the rules as long as the person or person's your photographing don't mind or ask for their permission it's all good is the rules read..Robert

Regarding public nudity in this sexualized day and age, permission is the key. As it is, Travis County banned in 1995 families and other groups with kids under 18 for just that sort of worry. Take the time to peruse through the Message Board and perhaps some older news links in the Website during the winter, and you will find a few cases where men had to leave or were even arrested in a few cases because of their hidden photography without permission. I don't ever mind myself, but some people do like their privacy protected regarding people whose photographic motives aren't clear. However, you sound like you'll be fine. HH already has professional photographer who is a regular visitor, and discretion is his watchword.

as 4 me i dont care,i would enjoy someone taking my picture. but that's just me.

I've shot at HH but they are usually landscape pictures and if there are people in them it's not close enough to identify them. But if I saw photogenic people that I wanted to include I would certainly ask them first.

If you see someone taking photos of their partner, consider stopping long enough to offer to take a few photos (using their camera) of them together. We have done that a few times, and its always been appreciated. On one of our first HH visits, now a decade or more ago, an attractive older woman saw me trying to get a few shots of my wife, who was just becoming used to public nudity. The woman came over, asked if we would like some photos of us together, and we agreed. While she was taking them, we all joked that these were not the kind of vacation photos to go in the family album. Her gesture to help, and the friendly exchange and banter, all of us nude, helped set the tone for how we viewed the park. Those few photos are still some of our favorites.

I guess your talking about me. BTW, you ARE gonna be there for the 2nd Annual AANR/Guinness World Record Skinny Dip Attempt at Hippie Hollow Saturday July 10th at 2:00 PM Central time aren't you?

The only advice I can give about photography at HH is be respectful of your neighbor. I have had several photo shoots at HH and WILL NOT take a picture that includes a bystander. I've missed the opportunity for some good shots because of bystanders, but my camera doesn't swim very well.
